[SOLVED] Describe the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected and its impact on your organization. Use organizational data to quantify the impact

Describe the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected and its impact on your organization. Use organizational data to quantify the impact

The Quadruple Aim provides broad categories of goals to pursue to maintain and improve healthcare. Within each goal are many issues that, if addressed successfully, may have a positive impact on outcomes. For example, healthcare leaders are being tasked to shift from an emphasis on disease management often provided in an acute care setting to health promotion and disease prevention delivered in primary care settings.

Efforts in this area can have significant positive impacts by reducing the need for primary healthcare and by reducing the stress on the healthcare system.

Changes in the industry only serve to stress what has always been true; namely, that the healthcare field has always faced significant challenges, and that goals to improve healthcare will always involve multiple stakeholders. This should not seem surprising given the circumstances. Indeed, when a growing population needs care, there are factors involved such as the demands of providing that care and the rising costs associated with healthcare.

Generally, it is not surprising that the field of healthcare is an industry facing multifaceted issues that evolve over time.

In this module’s Discussion, you reviewed some healthcare issues/stressors and selected one for further review. For this Assignment, you will consider in more detail the healthcare issue/stressor you selected. Expert Answer and Explanation

The Strategies used to address the Organizational Impact of National Healthcare Issues/Stressors

Description of the National Healthcare Issue

Mental healthcare outcome measurement is a tool that quantifies the intervention results of mental healthcare as well as the therapeutic influences of the condition. It emphasizes that for mental healthcare to be sufficient, the intervention should be specific on the person (Naslund et al., 2013). The interconnection between healthcare providers in order to achieve a collaborative framework also helps to ensure integration and effective treatment operations for mental healthcare (Lake & Turner, 2017).

In some of the instances, the healthcare professionals are the ones affected by the mental healthcare issues, hence there is need to have an inclusive platform for ensuring a harmless system. For instance, when physicians, nurses in this case, are faced with the challenge of understaffing, it is likely that they will be subjected to long working hours, and subsequently impacting negative mental health.

Summary of Sources talking about the National Healthcare Issue

Lake, J., & Turner, M. S. (2017). Urgent need for improved mental health care and a more collaborative model of care. The Permanente Journal21.

Lake and Turner (2017) explain about some of the current treatments and the dominant models of mental healthcare that fail to address the complex hardships encountered through mental illness. The article explains that it is this gap which results in making mental illness the third leading adult disability in the world.

There are numerous circumstances that demand radical change in mental healthcare, and these include but are not limited to improved clinician training re-envisioning current delivery methods of mental healthcare, and developing new research methods. Kaiser Permanente (KP) offers some of the biggest contributions that determine the trends taken in mental healthcare.

In the article, some of the biggest challenges to mental healthcare are discussed. Also, the need for developing a collaborative care model is explained. The authors specifically emphasize on the need to have early interventions at the onset of mental health disorders, and this would help to increase the success of the integrative treatment strategies.

Lastly, the source explains the need for using evidence-based treatment methods as they have everlasting impacts on mental health research as well as the treatment options.

Thielke, S., Thompson, A., & Stuart, R. (2011). Health psychology in primary care: recent research and future directions. Psychology Research and Behavior Management4, 59.

The source explains about the developments of health psychology over the last decade, and how primary care has had numerous contributions on the mental and physical health promotion. This source explains that mental health research has addressed numerous gaps in mental health. The source acknowledges the presence of various challenges when solving mental health problems.

For instance, it is not easy to detect the degree of penetration of the impacts of mental health on primary care. The article also emphasizes on the need for health psychologists to clearly articulate their theories regarding mental health.

How the Healthcare Issue is Being Addressed in other Organizations

In most of the healthcare organizations, mental health is taken as an entirely individual unit of health, where there are specific departments that deal with the mental health issues. It is clear that most of the healthcare organizations recognize the fact that the idea of using regular clinicians to diagnose the mental health illnesses and nurses to treat them is always faulty (Stone & Waldron, 2019).

This is mainly because clinicians and nurses have not received education about health psychology that is possessed by health psychologists, and hence it becomes impossible for them to identify different ways of solving the mental health challenges.

Summary of the Strategies Used to Address the Organizational Impact of the National Healthcare Issue

Among the lead strategies used to address the impacts of mental healthcare in society is the use of evidence-based practice. It is clear that there is need to diagnose mental illnesses early enough lest they would become too hard to control at the later stages. One of the ways of diagnosing mental health illnesses is having health psychologists in different internal units of care, and allowing them to interview patients who are more prone to mental health.

Patients who have depression, for instance, could be victims of mental illness (Thielke, Thompson, & Stuart, 2011). The use of EBP in addressing mental health concerns in a facility helps to create efficiency in the delivery of health to patients who are affected by the mental health problems. For instance, it helps to devise some of the latest ways of conducting therapy for their conditions and maintain them in the best state of mental health that is possible.

The strategy of training healthcare givers about the basic diagnostic skills of mental health has also helped to address the organizational impact of mental health. Some of the physicians who are directly involved with the patients could easily detect some signs in the patients that could help them detect the presence of mental complications.

Lastly, the use of collaborative care when offering mental health therapy is an efficient strategy that helps physicians to avoid bypassing possible care methods or techniques among patients.

So far this is the highest marks I got for an assignment done by you guys. I got 42/50 for this assignment. The exact feedback from my lecturer was:
Introduction: Good introduction to assisted dying, especially in relation to laws within Australia. Introduction was a little too long.
Aim or Purpose: Good purpose but improved grammar needed. Good use of PICO.
