Do you know how to recognize digital evidence? Is it anything that can be created or processed on a computing system? It is important for an investigator to correctly identify permitted digital evidence that is accepted by the legal community.
In a report to your supervisor, research and document at least five types of digital evidence. Your report should be a minimum of 500 words. For each type of digital evidence, document the following:
Provide an overview for each type of digital evidence you have selected.
- Describe what metadata is attached to each type of digital evidence selected.
- Research any issues with recovery, handling, and analyzing of each type of evidence selected.
